BOOKING AND RENTAL PROCESS:
What do I need to rent a bike?
We ask for an ID or passport and a valid credit card (Visa or Mastercard only).
To rent a bike, a valid credit card (Visa/Mastercard) is always required, even with a prepaid reservation.
Can I rent a bike if I don't have a credit card?
Yes, you can, leaving your valid ID/passport in the store during the rental time as a guarantee. Please note that it is not possible to book in advance without a credit card.
How do I make a reservation?
To make a reservation, CLICK ON THE RENTAL You can choose the rental period and see the available stock. To pick up the bike, you must bring your ID/passport and a valid Visa/Mastercard credit card.
Can I cancel my booking?
It is possible to cancel your booking in accordance with our Terms & Conditions or by contacting us by email. At info@biketheway.com, you will find all the technical specifications of the bikes in the description of the bike, as well as the geometry of each size, so you can compare it with your own bike. Please note that if you do not show up on the pickup date, your reservation will be held only for that day and will be automatically canceled afterwards.
Can I make a change to a confirmed booking?
Yes, depending on availability, please email info@biketheway.com, and please note that there is a surcharge of 20 euros per bike. If you need to add/remove accessories such as pedals or helmets, you can do so either by email or at the time of pick-up at no additional cost.
How far in advance can I make a reservation?
You are welcome to make a reservation as soon as you know your travel dates to ensure availability, although please note that as we change models every year, the reserved model may be replaced with a new one with similar specifications. In any case, we will always upgrade your reservation to a model with the same or better specifications as the previously booked bike.
If I have a reservation in my name, can someone else pick up the bike on my behalf?
Yes, it is possible if you notify us in advance by email. The person who picks up the bike must bring their ID/Passport and Vïsa/Mastercard credit card. You will be responsible for the rental equipment and will make payment of the amount due (if any outstanding balance) is due at the time of collection.
What size should I choose?
You will find the technical specifications in the details of each bicycle, as well as the geometry of each size, so you can compare it with your own bicycle.
Do I have to book a bike in advance or can I just come to the shop?

RENTAL CONDITIONS:
Is the rental for 1 day counted 24 hours?
The 1-day rental counts from the morning (store opening time) to the afternoon (store closing time).
Do you offer rentals of less than 1 day?
No, unfortunately not. Our minimum rental is 1 day. In any case, we offer competitive daily prices on each advertised model.
Do you offer transportation service?
Yes, we do delivery and collection service throughout the island. Contact us. In some cases, it is charged.
Can I rent a bike and pick it up/drop it off outside of your opening hours?
No, it is only possible to pick up and return the bikes when the shop is open.
Can I rent a bike for any type of amateur or professional competition?
Yes, it is possible to use the rental bikes for races such as the Mallorca312 although in those cases, the minimum rental required would be 3 days.
Do you offer insurance for bicycles?
Yes, we have the Basic Insurance for 15 euros/rental that covers up to 300 euros of accidental damage or the Pro Insurance of 30 euros/rental that covers up to 700 euros of accidental damage.
Do you offer gravel bikes?
No, at the moment we do not have a gravel fleet.
Are there any other charges I should consider?
In very exceptional cases (such as dirty bikes), we can charge €20 when the bike is returned full of mud, dust or rusty (which is not common!).
In case of loss of the key of the lock supplied with the bicycle (in the models in which it is included), loss of the multi-tool, saddlebag or pump is charged 10€/item.
Is it possible to transport the bicycle by bus/train/taxi?
It is possible to transport the bicycles by taxi (please ask for a large taxi accordingly) or by train (from Palma to Sa Pobla, Inca or Manacor) although unfortunately it is not possible to transport bicycles either on the Sóller train or on the buses.
EQUIPMENT RENTAL:
Do rental bikes include a lock?
Yes, we include a padlock for free.
What equipment is provided with the bikes?
We provide a puncture repair kit (air pump, two tire levers and spare tube), a multi-tool and a bottle cage. Speedometer not included.
Can I rent a helmet, pedals or any other accessory?
Yes! Helmets and pedals (Shimano SPD, Shimano SPD-SL, Look Keo or Flats) can be rented from €2/day. If you bring your own pedals, our staff will install them on the bike(s) for you.
Is it possible to change the crankset, handlebars, cassette or any other component of the bikes?
Yes, we can ride some of our bikes. Please email request details in advance.
GENERAL QUESTIONS:
Can I park somewhere near your tent?
Yes, along the main road (Ma-11), about 400 meters from our store in Sóller, there is free parking 24/7. Otherwise, there are a few parking zones closer to the store for a daily hourly fee.
Is it possible to buy accessories or spare parts at Bike The Way?
Yes! Apart from the equipment that we include when renting a bike with us, we have a good stock of spare parts and accessories including brands such as Continental, Shimano, Look, Garmin, Catlike, Kalas, etc.
Do you sell second-hand bikes after the season?
We usually start selling our second-hand bikes after the summer (this can vary).
Can I store my luggage in your store during the rental period?
Yes, if you rent a bike from us, you can store your luggage in our shop for free during the rental period.
